Markup Programming & PSD to HTML Projects:
For a standard PSD to HTML markup order, the first page can be processed in as little as 8 hrs (one business day). Software Implementation & Design Integration Projects:
Turnaround times for implementation projects vary per application, but a 2-3 business day turnaround is required for most applications. More time may be required if the project's scope involves extended or custom functionality.

Website Design Projects:
Delivery of the initial concept and home page design is usually delivered within 2-3 business days. Delivery times for inside pages depend upon the scope of your design project. Time estimates will be provided by your project manager.

Revisions & Change Requests:
Revisions are generally processed within 24 hours or less. If more time is required, you will be notified by your project manager.

Note: Turnaround times are estimates only and can vary depending upon your project’s complexity and our current production loads. We make every effort to meet deadlines. If your are submitting a time sensitive project, please contact us to make arrangements.

Do you offer any discounts or volume discounts?

Yes! We offer two types of discounts – discounts for inside pages and volume discounts based on the number of projects submitted. You may view the per page discounts on our order page (generally $39 to $79 per page depending upon complexity). Details on volume discounts can be discussed with your project manger, which are generally related to the number of projects submitted within a given timeframe. We value our repeat clients  and make sure to extend any possible savings to them in appreciation for their continued business.

We are even able to support and provide extensive discounts for high volume, long-term contract projects. Over the years, we have worked with large firms, agencies and organizations to function as their backend development divisions. We are proud of this work and have leveraged this experience to benefit all of our clients. If you have a large scale development project, please feel free to contact us for consultation, as we have extensive and ongoing experience with advanced high-volume development without sacrificing quality.

What is your refund policy? Is there a guarantee?

htmlBlender values your business and wants you to be happy with our services. We guarantee your satisfaction and are dedicated to ensuring the delivered code fully meets your expectations. If it does not, we simply ask for the opportunity to correct the issue and are confident that we are capable of rectifying any validity or compatibility concerns. However, in the event we are unable to meet your expectations, we will issue a refund for the following reasons:

  • If the order or project cannot be completed

  • If the delivered markup is not W3C compatible or has not met the ordered compatibility standards
  • If you are not satisfied with the result while viewing it on our private staging server

Note: The above refund policy applies to markup and basic CMS theme development projects only. Getting Started & Our Process

I'm ready to submit my PSD to HTML project. How do I get started?

Your project can be submitted using our order page. During the order process you will be able to upload your files, select from a variety of markup and JavaScript options, as well as,  custom themes, skins and templates for popular software applications.

Which design file formats do you accept?

While our team can code your designs to XHTML and CSS from nearly any format, we do prefer the design files to be layered in one of the following formats: PSD, PNG, AI, INDD, etc.

Please note that if your design is a flat file (un-layered) such as JPG, PDF, etc. and it contains complex shadowing or other visual elements, there may be an extra fee and require more time for design recreation of these elements, so that we can properly code them to clean markup.

How do I send you my design files?

During the order process, you will be able to upload files (or links to files) in the Clients Area. You may also upload accompanying instructions or additional details with each project or file. For files larger than 50 MB, we recommend free services such as YouSendIt.com. Other options include uploading files to your server and providing a link to the files. Or you may contact us for private FTP access information to upload files larger than 50 MB to our servers.

How do I indicate rollovers and mouse-over behaviors in my PSD design file?

To indicate how you would like JS and CSS effects to appear and operate, you should add logically named layers containing the design and/or notes on the desired behaviors. For example, you could create a separate layer named 'hover' or 'mouse-over’. This will show us how you would like to have the mouse-over behaviors appear on the page.

What is the difference between a main page and a sub page?

The main page is usually considered to be the home page which contains the overall layout and design style of your website. Sub pages, also known as interior or inside pages, are derivatives of the main page layout, and contain major elements of the navigation and general layout. For website projects which require separate markup for multiple pages, we do offer inside page discounts. Discounts are provided for inside pages which borrow from the overall design of the main page.

If you are not sure if your pages would constitute an inside page discount, please feel free to contact us for review. If your project contains repetitive inside pages, which only have minor content variations, please contact us to review for potential further discount. We may also suggest the use of a content management system (CMS) to reduce development time and cost and streamline future content and website management for your project.

Do you work directly on my server?

We recommend that all development be done on our private staging server for your private review. However, when necessary we can work directly on your server. When working on a client's server, our normal procedure is to create a backup of any files we work with. We will then upload the new site or pages to a staging area or live area (depending on your preference). Once approved and completed, we will remove the archive and delete your FTP password from our files. As a further security precaution, we never store FTP passwords in FTP applications. We also recommend that you change your password afterward, as a standard safety procedure.

For markup orders, we deliver an archive file (in ZIP format) containing all XHTML and CSS along with all corresponding files.

For CMS development, design integrations and other advanced web development projects, we generally perform the development on our staging server for your private preview. Once the project is complete and approved by you, we then migrate the files and/or database to your server.

PSD to HTML Markup & JavaScript

What is the difference between sIFR and Cufon?

sIFR and Cufon are font and image replacement methods.

sIFR (Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) allows you to use non-web fonts in a web page by replacing standard HTML elements with Flash. sIFR is useful when applied to headings or short text fragments and can improve search engine optimization (SEO).

Cufon is a similar font replacement method to sIFR which allows the use of non-web fonts in a web page. Cufon provides search engine optimization (SEO) benefits while allowing greater control over design. Please note that Cufon text will not be selectable by the user, but due to faster load speeds it is recommended over sIFR technology.

Will I receive a sliced PSD with my markup delivery?

We do not provide a sliced PSD with your markup delivery. This is because we actually hand code the XHTML/CSS and do not use HTML export utilities from Photoshop or any other graphic editors.
